Tutorial – Room 117 Tech User Guide

TVs:

Use the remote to turn on each of the TVs.

SCBaptist Computer:

Select “PRO PRO PRO” on the video switcher (1). Press AUTO (2) to change between inputs. The input highlighted red is live, the one highlighted green is the next input if you press the AUTO button.


ProPresenter:

Communicate with Ronnie Richardson concerning the best way to load the files. After the files have been loaded into ProPresenter, open the program (1), select the playlist for your event (2), click on the first item (3), and then click a slide to begin presenting (4). You can move forward in the slides by pressing the “space bar” or the “right” arrow. To move backward, press the “left” arrow. To clear the slides so that the screens are blank, press the x in the upper right corner (5).   

PowerPoint:

Create your presentation using PowerPoint while logged in with your Microsoft account. Save it to your One Drive so it can be accessible from the SCBaptist computer. Go to the computer at the back of the room and open PowerPoint (1). Click on the button to sign in (2) and follow the instructions (3). Next, click on the Recent tab (4), select or search for your document and open it. Once you are ready to present, click the Presentation button in the bottom right to begin (5).

Important Note: Please remember to log out of PowerPoint once you are done presenting for your event.

Your Computer – Back

Select “ZOOM LAPTOP” on the video switcher (1). Press AUTO (2) to change between inputs. The input highlighted red is live, the one highlighted green is the next input if you press the AUTO button.

Connect your computer using the HDMI cable labeled “ZOOM LAPTOP.” If you need an HDMI adapter, there should be one on the desk or on the shelves. You can either configure your computer to mirror your screen, or you can use it as an extended display.

Important Note: This configuration does not have an option for playing audio from your computer. If audio is needed from your computer, choose either of the other projection options or talk with the Creative Engineer for alternatives. A close-up of a black cable

Your Computer – Front

Select “STAGE STAGE STAGE” on the video switcher (1). Press AUTO (2) to change between inputs. The input highlighted red is live, the one highlighted green is the next input if you press the AUTO button.

Connect your computer using the HDMI cable with the blue end (1). This cable is located under the table that is next to the SCBaptist Logo. If you need an HDMI adapter (2), there should be one on the desk or on the shelves. You can either configure your computer to mirror your screen, or you can use it as an extended display.

If you need audio to play from your computer, find the XLR cable that is connected to the LTI Blox (3). This device allows you to control the volume level and connect to the headphone port on your computer. It should be located near the HDMI cable, under the table. Turn the dial clockwise to increase the volume.

Important Note: Please remember to turn your computer’s volume all the way up. If you are using a program that has its own volume control, please be sure to turn it up.

Clicker

Under the computer monitor there should be a black bag with a clicker inside. Take out the clicker, move the switch to the on position, and wait for it to connect. Once it connects, the right and left arrows will move forward and backwards in the presentation. For the clicker to work, you must keep the presentation software (ProPresenter or PowerPoint) as the active program on the computer. If another program is active, the clicker will not work as intended.

Microphones

Choose one of the four handheld mics. Blue is the typical choice, but any will do. Add batteries and then press and hold the power button until you see the LED turn green.

Go to the iPad and open the App titled “X32 MIX” (1). Make sure the app is on the “Home” screen (2). The wireless handheld mics are located on the first bank of sliders “Ch 1-8” (3). Find the slider for the microphone you selected. If it is muted, press the “MUTE” button (4) to toggle it on/off. Use the slider (5) to turn the volume up/down.

Music

Open the Spotify App (1). Make sure the volume slider is all the way up (2). Make sure the computer volume is all the way up (3). Choose your playlist and press play. The left side of the screen has pre-built playlists that you can use (4).

To control the volume, go to the iPad and open the App titled “X32 MIX” (1). Make sure you are on the “Home” screen (2). Go to the second bank of sliders “Ch 9-16” (3). Make sure channel 12 “PC” is unmuted (4). Use the slider to increase/decrease the volume (5).
